"The past has much to do with the making of the fu "The past has much to do with the making of the future" - Henry Stanley Newman. Today is Henry Stanley Newman’s birthday - quaker, philanthropist and founder of Orphans Press in 1873. He opened Leominster Orphan Homes in 1869, and was responsible for improving social well-being and education in Leominster. As we sit back and listen to the whirring of the presses today, we’re proud to be a part of his legacy. Swipe to step back in time - working in a space with so much history means the frequent joy of flicking through an old book from the archive and stumbling across a snapshot of the past. This extract certainly made an impression on Henry! #printingpress #printmakersofinstagram #peopleofprint #orphanspress #henrystanleynewman #britishquakers #quakersofinstagram #quakers #indiepublishing #readersofinstagram #printlife #philanthropist #indiebooks #herefordshirebusiness #herefordshirelife
