Released on 8 May, 1970, the Let It Be soundtrack proved to be an international bestseller and took home an Academy Award for Original Song Score. However, in the backdrop of the song being produced, the band was falling apart, and the song was released almost a month after the group’s break-up. George Martin described how “life after the Beatles was like a series of flirtations after being divorced.” At Orphans we have published three books about the Beatles - one being Visualising the Beatles, from which this graphic is taken.
